With all the diet fads that has been advertised and repeated over and over since time immemorial, people have yet to learn. “Crash diet” is not the way to do it. People mistake not eating for three consecutive meals, or not eating at all, as a way to lose weight and trim down. It does not work that way. The more you fast, the more hungry you become. And honestly, how long can you go not eating right and without catching some problems along the way? These fad diets would only cause you health problems and a trip to the emergency room of your favorite hospital. Not a very smart move, don’t you think?

Studies have shown that the best, yes, the BEST way to lose weight is through exercising and by having a balanced diet. That seems like a tough job to follow since you love food and you definitely love to eat. However, if you really want to have that “to-die-for” body, you must do your part, and work it well. No one will do it for you, so you better start now. We know that when we eat, we also eliminate the remains of them. And by now, we are aware of our body’s own cleansing system, or the “detox” team, consisting of the liver, the kidneys, the intestines and even the skin. They all work hand-in-hand to filter, cleanse and eliminate waste.  By the way, detoxification or simply detox is the process of eliminating or removing waste products.

Conversely, if we are to exercise and when we work hard, we sweat and it makes our heart work more, which boosts the blood flow and supply throughout the entire body. This process will aid your natural detox center to do its job. By exercising, you will also lose some calories and fat. And of course, it will make you feel good and healthy at the same time.

Some people follow a certain healthy detox diet that they say helped them, here are the two of them:

•    The Natural Detox Diet: In this diet, you will need to cut out on all your alcohol, tea, coffee, processed foods, sugary drinks, chocolate and fast food. Its primary goal is to first lessen the acid levels in your body, and then release all the toxins from the vital organs and out of the body by the help of the lymphatic system; after which you will re-energize. You will also need to perform light aerobic exercises for at least 25-30 minutes for three to four times a week.

•    The Three Week Healthy Eating Diet: In this diet, you will have to eliminate your entire carbohydrates intake in the evening for the first two weeks, and should be followed by meals consisting of protein, fruits and vegetables. For the final week, you could already eat carbohydrates in the evening and in mid-morning. During this diet, you should be able to maintain two liters of water intake each day. However, while on the process of this diet, you may have headaches, increased lethargy and nausea because of the unhealthy toxins that are being released.

During the healthy detox diet, it is also important to perform some exercises to help energize both the circulatory and lymphatic systems that will eliminate the toxins. A simple and light routine exercise would be enough. Doing a healthy detox diet is a personal choice, the results may vary from each person and some may feel comfortable doing it, while others do not. Compared to the fad diets, crash diets and who-knows-whatever-kind-of-diet-there-is, this is relatively safe and much reliable in terms of the detoxification process. Starting a Water Detox Program

 

Today, more people are becoming more conscious about the hazardous effects of the chemicals they directly or indirectly take into their bodies. They realize that cancer rates are growing higher and their waistlines are expanding wider. More people are finding out that fast food, alcohol and massive nutrition and diet fads have serious and often fatal consequences. Enter the promise of detoxification.

While many still see detoxification as something new age and “hippie”, a lot more people have discovered how detoxification has worked wonders in their lives, from curing diseases to improving their moods.

A popular way to detox your body is to indulge in a water fast. For most people, a water fast as one of the most difficult things they have embarked on in their lives, yet also the most rewarding. To prepare for a mental fast, you must predict the kind of activities you will be entering in the next few days. Some may fast for as long as three days just to get the feel of how it is. Some people may find a water fast difficult and all they want to do is sleep all day. Other people may find that they are more energetic and vibrant on the water fast. Generally, water fasting is something not to be taken lightly – many people can attest to how profound the experience can be. Living on water makes one realize how we can function with very little and survive with only the essentials.

Before the fast, it is also a good idea to prepare your body by drinking juices (only the fresh kind) and soft, raw food. Breaking in your body gently helps you whether the aggressive surfacing of chemicals that water detoxification can bring. As the fast progresses, you may notice some dizziness, but this is normal because the heart rests itself during a fast. Make sure that you stand up or sit down slowly; this will relieve much of the dizziness. During detoxification, the waste level in our blood goes up, so some people may experience fever and headaches. These will not last long and are soon gone as the water passes through our system.

If you feel that detoxification is too much of a commitment, just make sure that you drink at least 2 liters of clean water every day. Drinking this much (and not a lot of people do) will greatly aid our body in moving nutrients around, cooling us off and removing stored waste and bacteria.
