  1. I like the ‘master cleanser’, which is:

12 oz warm water (distilled or bottled)
Freshly squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
2 tbl Grade B maple syrup (not the pancake syrup)
    1/10 tsp of cayenne pepper

You can fast with this for several days, (plus water) if you like. Or as long as you feel necessary. I prefer a day or two of fasting with the cleanser. The day before and after the fast, I eat light vegetarian meals only.

Sometimes, I’ll drink this in the place of dinner, then have water and herbal tea later. The next day I feel less of that bloated, uncomfortable feeling that I’ve come to associate with too much processed food, red meat, alcohol, etc.

If you’ve never fasted before, you should *definitely* do some google research on the net to be sure it’s healthy for you.

    Enjoy! And good luck! :)

  2. Be careful, because some of the stuff that is claimed to detox you can actually harm you. Most detox regimens are placebos at best.

Your best bet is to take antioxidant vitamins like A, E, C and minerals such as Zinc and Selenium. Be very careful not to take too much of the minerals and fat soluble vitamins such as A and E. Too high dosage can poison you.

Vitamin C and Beta Carotene are water soluble, so excess can be excreted through the kidneys. Beta Carotene can turn you orange, though.

Beware of enemas, 9 times out of 10, they do more harm than good.

It’s impossible to get rid of all toxins. Just keep your liver and kidneys in good working order, get plenty of sleep, exercise, work up a sweat, and have a good cry from time to time. These have been scientifically proven to remove toxins from the body.

Regarding fasting… Do you or anyone in your family have diabetes or hypoglycemia? If so, fasting is extrememly dangerous. I used to fast for religious reasons, but had to give it up due to hypoglycemia.

Remember to stay active whatever you do. Cleansing does you no good if you keep being a couch potato.
