Have You Thought About A Natural Detox?

Have you ever considered a natural detox? It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but a good many of us are convinced it does make a significant difference to the way we look and feel. Too few of us realize that much of what we eat and drink has within it substances that count as toxins.

These may be anything from having that innocent cup of coffee to eating a hot dog. Yes, I bet those health or food experts could find some ingredient that’s potentially harmful to you. One could argue that you could never totally eliminate all those substances that may not be good for us, as no one could live in a sterile bubble. But, what you could do is to give yourself a helping hand by undergoing a periodic natural detox.

Before venturing on any further, the general health advice given in such situations is that such an activity should best be avoided if you’re one of the following groups of people. Pregnant or breast feeding women, kids, teenagers and seniors. Also the medical sites do not advocate a detox diet to anyone with chronic conditions, diabetes, heart condition and any eating disorders.

That said, when you begin to follow the advice on what to eat and drink and what to avoid you would be surprised at how many of those everyday items you consume, are best left out when on a natural detox. With special regard to what you drink, then obviously stimulants like coke, alcoholic drinks and even tea and coffee are excluded for the duration. What you are left with that you can drink and should is of course water.

But even here there lurks a danger of sorts that could scupper your plans to detoxify your system, as many municipal water treatment plants are not effective enough at removing water borne contaminants. That’s not scare tactics and there’s a lot of data out there to back these claims.

Fortunately, there are some quite simple steps you can take to ensure purer, cleaner water by using a water filter. Any initial expenses should considered in the light of achieving a better water supply for the longer term, making a natural detox as natural as possible.

Find out much more on my main site which leaves no stone unturned in  the search for cleaner water!
